Good Faith Estimate
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining the expected cost of your care.
Under federal law, health care providers are required to provide a Good Faith Estimate to individuals who are not using insurance or who choose to self-pay. This estimate outlines the anticipated costs for services, including psychotherapy.
You have the right to:
-Request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services
-Receive an estimate of the total expected cost of non-emergency services
-Dispute a bill if it is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate
You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate at any time, including before your first appointment.
Be sure to save a copy of your estimate for your records.
For more information about your rights, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 368-1019.
